When you get a new Apple device, it will automatically get registered on iCloud.com and be added to your list of devices. The same thing happens whether this is a new phone, or a device lent to you by 1823 Group. When you no longer need the device, you will need to remove it from iCloud to make it usable for other people.
As the iCloud account owner, you will need to do the following to unlink the device from iCloud:
If you still have the actual device: To remove a device from iCloud, simply go to Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
If the device is no longer with you:
- Go to https://www.icloud.com/ and select Find iPhone:
- Click All Devices, then select the device to remove.
- Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password.
- When the device is erased, click Remove from Account.
This video might help if you are having any issues.
If you have followed all these steps but can't see the device:
If it looks like the device has already been removed on your end, Apple will need to "flush it out" and you will need to speak to them directly. Unfortunately, this is not something that we can do for you as Apple will only speak to the named account holder. You can call Apple or book a call back by visiting https://getsupport.apple.com/, select "The topic is not listed" in any of the categories listed, and enter the IMEI number for the handset in question.
This is all fairly straightforward, but if you are having any issues, please contact our Customer Care Team who would be happy to assist!
